Bronze Sculptures
JTo know John was to love him. If not for his humor, story teling or his sensitivity, you loved him for his creative imagination. John took pride in his art. His representational art took on its own life and existance from the start to the finish as he made a commitment to pay attention to detail to the subject's anatomy. Whether it be on the feathers of an eagle, the antlers of an elk, or the hair of an Indiam maiden, he would catch the trueness of each. All of the bronze sculptures are cast in special silicone bronze.
There was a time when John would work in his own foundry on "Scott's Peak" in Kittredge, Colorado. He would cast his own work using the lost wax process up until he turned 81. He found it was too strenuous and dangerous to continue the "hot work" especially when he had no running water at his rustic abode. This decision was an end of an era for him as he let go of what he felt was the most rewarding and exciting life of an artist he had ever experienced.
The preferred process of creating his sculptures was the "LOST WAX" process whiich is well over 4000 years old and it requires intensive labor. There are 24 steps in producing a bronze sculpture, from the creation of the mold to pouring the hot bronze to welding the piece back together to the finishing touches. We guarantee that any of John's art that needs produced will follow his authenticity and pocess each piece with the high standards that John's art is known for.

* Some of the art is in our inventory which means these are the last pieces that John, himself, had his hands on and had produced the piece entirely himself. Then there are the pieces which we will produce ourselves through the foundry. Each sculpture will be made from the mold that John designated for reporductiion and placed a number on each piece to the limit of editions that can be made from that mold.
The pictures do not show actual size. Please refer to the actual measurements.
